Welcome to my blog!
I’m glad you made it, regardless of how you got here.
To briefly introduce myself, my name is Andrew and I live in the beautiful state of Colorado. I am a 32 year old husband, father, and self-proclaimed “personal finance nerd”. For as far back as I can remember, I have always been obsessed with money. Not with budgeting [I hate budgeting…], but with increasing my income and finding creative ways to hit my next “milestone”.
As with any good plan, my strategies have evolved with time. In college, I worked multiple jobs and would often skip class to pick up extra shifts [I don’t recommend this…]. After college, I navigated multiple promotions in my career and picked up a few side hustles [more on those in a future post]. As a father, I now need to relentlessly prioritize my time and optimize my life based on value.
With that intro out of the way, let’s talk about healthywealthydads. I’m starting this blog for a few reasons:
- To learn: I am bad at writing. I am bad at storytelling. I know nothing about creating a business, websites, SEO, public speaking, and monetization. This is an opportunity for me to try new things, learn new skills, and broaden my horizons.
- To share: I spend a lot of time consuming information. YouTube, Google, Podcasts, Blogs, etc. I like to learn everything that I can about personal finance and being a father. It’s time that I started using this knowledge to produce information with the goal of helping others.
- To document: I will be using this site to document our progress towards financial independence. Thoughts, ideas, successes, and failures will be shared along the way. I personally find value in seeing “the numbers” of others. I hope that our specifics will help motivate and inspire others on their own journey.
- To help: Despite being last, this is the most important “reason” on the list. Is this site just for dads? no… finance nerds? nope… health nuts? ha…heck no…. It is for anyone who might find value in some or part of my journey. Financial, fatherhood, health, or otherwise. If I can help even 1 person with 1 thing, then I will consider all of this effort worth it.
So, welcome to healthywealthydads! I hope you find value in the content, and let’s build this community together!
